Title: RM 125/250 & PE 175 triple clamp spacing

I need to find out an accurate measurement of fork leg/triple clamp widths on some of these models with 38mm forks

82-84 PE 175
79-83 RM 125
79-82 RM 250


Did they just bore out the earlier 36mm clamps to 38mm (if so i can just go by my 36mm clamps, but if they are different spacing, going by the 36mm triple spacing will muck all my measuremts up) or is everything spaced out wider?

To work this out I just need to an accurate measurement beween each fork leg or inside edgeof  each fork leg hole in the triple clamps and then just add on 38mm and that will give exact centre to centre fork leg spacing.

Does anyone know if the triple clamp widths on 82-84 PE 175 are the same as the 81-83 RM 125? I thought I could work it our from zedder and alpha-sports but the hubs are different part numbers. If the hubs and axle spacers where same on PE 175 as on RM then I would have said yes the triple clamps are the same

As I see it  Rm 250 T and PE T/X have the same centres   180mm

ok just gotta find out what the full floaters clamps are now. Brent do you have a set of these?

My RM125X is the same..180mm

did you have 142 between tubes then add on the 38= 180mm?

Yeah 142+38 and between air cap valve centers. Also measured PE400=144 +36 =180.....same centers.

very good, that matches what ive got/found out. for a while i wasnt sure if they were 179 or 179.5mm center to center but it seems logical if they made the spacing an even number. just want to know what the 82-84 PE 175 is now, but by the sounds of it they will probably be 142 between inside of legs and 180 centre to centre, but i dont want to do any guessing

if its not too much trouble can you put a photo of the RM 125 triples x/z/d on here? if its too much trouble for you dont worry

I've only just read this post, I checked a set of spare 82' PE175 clamps and they are 180mm between centres with 38mm tubes.
