New Old Stock? Did any one mention New Old Stock :o :o :o.
Unbelievable!!! Who would have thought there was that much NOS in the world let alone in the one place in the one auction.
-
That's... simply amazing! I wonder how many such 'collections' exist around the world? I remember reading an article in Cycle World a couple of years ago about the discovery in America of a collection of NOS Brit bike parts. Some guy had done the same thing - buying up dealers stock when they went out of business, and he had a couple of warehouses full of the stuff. Shelves full of wheels, tanks, seats, pipes etc...
-
Unfortunitly the collector is selling due to family reasons , I have swapped many NOS Honda parts with him from across the pond over the years, he really loves his Honda SL's and CR's, I must admit I didn't know his collection was that big though when I found out some months ago he was auctioning/selling it off. Probably a bad time to sell with the cash crisis in the USA but I still think some of his really rare stuff will go for top dollar.
-
It is really worth having a look at the seventeen pages of bikes, tanks, seats, signs, banners etc etc on this site, quite staggering!!

WOW! good thing I dont a Honda or I could see myself spending some money here. The guy at least collected all the best bits. I wonder what else he has?
-
Let the bidding begin.............awesome stuff,thanks vmxken. :)
Where do you start :o
page 11,12,13,15 have banners (if you don't own it,hang it).

The auction is now over and a lot of big money paid for the hard to get parts.
Just some of the CR250M nos...Tank $2700
Exhaust $1500
Front Guard $425
Front Numberplate $500
CR Mudflap $100
Even the banners did well, with $1000 paid for a Kawasaki banner.
Bet a lot of stuff hits eBay, looking to make a profit.

wow $2700 for a tank, $500 for a numbers plate, the NOS freaks are indeed a strange breed, remember it is only NOS until you start the engine.
-
Well how nos is still leaving it in the crate ?

Nice stash of parts he had tucked away, netted $212 000 for the 2 day auction.I still think if he put them on ebay over a few months, and not a fire sale,he would have done better.
-
RE: that crated AJS,wouldnt that be a dilemma if you won it.Obviously worth more fully packed but I think I'd just be too tempted and start putting it together for a VMX ride.Should probably go beyond 10k what do you reckon?
-
you take it out for a static display , but keep the box and packing if you even need to resell it :O)
-
No put it back on ebay , with all the cost to you ,as the reserve and a buy it now of 50 squillion ala YZ250 else where...
