Title: licence for CD6

just wondering whether I should be getting a national licence if I'm going to CD6?

an MAQ recreational licsence should get you going around the track at CD6 no probs Paul.
but while your thinking about it, yeah, get the national licsense and get along to the Nats as well ;)

Do they have one day licences for the nationals ?

Didn't used to, but nowadays they are issuing them for the roadrace nats, so you should be good to go. Always worth gritting the teeth and clearing it with an MA rep, though.

One thing is for sure , I want have the time and can not be bothred to jump through all the  hoops of getting a full license again.

yes MA, have provision for One event National License for classic and Historic,
But you need to apply for it in advance,At least 21 days before event or even more,
Details should be in sup Reg's.

in order to acumulate knobby marks all over oneself, first you'd need to be in front of someone that has that intention. ;)

no joining a club , no sitting in interesting meetings that seem to go on forever, waiting for the bar to open ? Just go on line .  That sounds promising  8) Thanks oldf... Whats the link ?

Hi Walter,
this is an extract from the 2009 Manual of motor sport

3.1.2.4 ^ Senior One Meeting National Licence is
subject to the following conditions:
a) Licence will be available to all
applicants 16 years and older,
b) Current club membership is
required,
c) No competency test is required if the
applicant can prove that they have held
an annual competition licence within the
previous 10 years,
d) Applicants who have never held a
competition licence, or who have not
held a licence within the previous 10
years must undertake a competency
test, and apply for the licence via the
event Race Secretary at least 21 days
prior to the race meeting in which they
wish to compete. The competency
assessment may be undertaken at the
meeting in which the participant intends
to compete.
e) This licence category will only be
available to:
i) Participants in national classic/
historic events,
ii) Competitors using modern machines
at a national event specifi cally for
Veteran and/or Masters riders. The
minimum age to classify a Veteran or
Masters competitor for this category is
35 years.
