Title: how to fill ohlins with oil?
Post by: Kane Mcguire on December 28, 2008, 08:38:18 pm
i have ohlins on my 250cr husky and want to know how to fill with oil. i was told to keep filling up into the hole at the top of the reservoir till full. it takes ages, a lot of filling then putting the plug back in, pumping the shaft, then putting more oil in. trying to displace the air.  not sure if this is correct.

you need these manuals. tells you all in there.

http://www.husqvarna-parts.com/catalog/item/3736874/3414914.htm - there are workshop manuals in this lot plus parts books and valving specs etc

he usually sells these on ebay too. these manuals have recently been updated this year when i loaned my manual to Phillip to copy the info he was missing in the remote reservoir manual.

To refill the ohlins with oil you need to let the gas out of the reservoir and pull the seal head and shaft out of the body and drain and refill the body with oil then bleed the shock before assembly and regas. It's not a simple job if you've never done it before.
