Now that's a bermshot - Torleif Hansen heeled way over!
-
That reminds me... does anyone have the photo of Roger DeCoster in an almost identical shot; there's a Bel-Ray banner in the background?
Back in the day the photo was everywhere (in the mags for Bel-Ray ads) but I haven't seen it for years. Anyone, anyone, somebody..??
-
Ive found the photo, its a bit of a shit photo in black n white but this is it.

Here's one. Not as extreme, but nice.

The shot of Jeff Emig at Manjimup is pretty wild too.
-
This Honda rider looks to be in the earthmoving business .
-
That one of emig is even better when you consider he is standing on the pegs.
-
Brett Bull at the Tamborine QVMX meet in '07; nice detonation! 8)
-
I think I am still spitting the dust out from that day Wombat old mate.
-
Emig's comes pretty close, but you gotta say Hansen is horizontal in the one at the top. Most 'heeled-over' bermshot I've seen. Just look how close the spectators are too. Not a lot of margin for error.
I recall a berm-shot in MXA/DB in the mid-70's of Gary Semics heeled a fair way over w the caption: "Confidence is the key". Too true.
-
I was fortunate enough to be at Manjimup and see Emig that day..dont reckon i've ever seen or heard a 125 ridden as hard ever again.

yes i too was there, he was awesome, but what about Bayle on the works CR500 Honda, so smooth as well.
-
yes ive seen a video of bayle racing manjimup on youtube...so smooth and totally in control...
i think he raced for one more year after that and retired...
took up road racing... :P

If memory serves me right Bayle didnt even turn up for timed qualifying until the last minute, pretty much got out of the hire car, yawned, put on some gear and went out and smoked the previous best time like he was out for coffee. He would have to be the smoothest rider i have ever had the pleasure of seeing.

Just watched Manjimup on youtube ,the track has changed a fair bit,the only recognizable jump is the big table top.
Also just before the chequered flag is one very large berm,if your standing behind it your can't see rider or bike, the jump on that same home straight is no longer there either.
Trees are real big now too. ;D
Pic from Texas.
