Right gents, heres a challenge for you all. I notice that 2 of my 414vg's and my 250vg frame all have a kind of "lug" on the inside of the main underframe bottom tubes.(one side ) .....It looks like a socket for a temporary sidestand, can anyone show me an original stand? or tell me what it should be like?
Cheers Sandy

What is wrong with the more era correct bike stand.
-
I used one on my VB for awhile, but it put the bike at
almost a straight up attitude, and I was alway's worried
the bike would fall over. As I recall, it was a straight rod
about 16 inches long with a round pad at the bottom.
I also remember you could not sit on the bike with the
stand in place as it would bend!

I think this is what you are looking for ;D. Each model had a different length depending on ground clearance. We always put a bend in them to overcome the too-upright problem. Cappra is right you could not sit on the bike and they also fell out everytime you moved the bike :( :o.
Usually after the second time your bike fell over because you thought the stand was in place resulted in the stand gently sailing over the nearest fence never to be spoken of again :-[ >:(

Thanks guys, thats cleared that one up !!
