Does anyone else out there have a set routine that they have to go through before they race or ride? A superstition that has to be followed to the "T"? A bloke I raced with for years would never wash his helmet or body armour. Never! I've always had to put on my right sock then the left. Right boot, then the left and so on for as long as I can remember. I know Gator does a nifty little drag act as his local the night before a big race and RM 370 likes to have a little "molest" of a goat before going to battle......
What do other peple do?..........
-
i always remember to take a piss before i race does that count ?
-
only if there's a full moon save the last dance for me 414 :-*
-
I never let anyone wear my helmet from new, if someone puts it on their head I have to go out and buy a new one and retire the old one to an "anyone can use whenever" status
-
I have to have sexual relations the night before a race meeting....or at least try!
-
i hope its not with a Goat 090 like RM370 :o

;D ;D ;D ;D ;Di see 414 your still jealous about the fact the goat still knocks u back at every meet but just be nice to it and leave your pants on a bit longer before u hit on her .. she has feelings u know she isn't some old 414 u just throw up against a tree... and gator isn't like that either he has feelings about cross dressing to .......................

i wear the same socks cause i forget to put new one in my kit bag. must remeber to wash them soon.
oooo and fuel i always have this habit of putting fuel in my bike.
-
You are 100% Freaky! Fuel eh.........
-
you would be surprised by the number of people that forget - or better still leave the tap in the 'off' position, till it stalls on the line ::)
-
That's why us Montie guys have two fuel taps. So as the guy beside you can only turn one off. Clever bastards those Spaniards...........
-
Take bikes..............found it helps a lot........... Oh and charge battery so the electric fuel pump works and the electric starter ,,,snicker snicker ::)

no chance of that with me, i check it and the choke off at least 3 times while on the line ! always seem to need a piss too but once that gate drops all nerves and twitches go away as adrenaline city kicks in, i love the race to first corner with the other punters

been thinking about this again. We raced today, and what i realised is im not supersticious but more obsessive conpusive ? Both my 250 have issues so rather than taking one i thought id take both undere the assumtion one might work probally and the other may be needed as a backup, then i new i had to have my 360 for the open class, so three bikes had to squash in the van, it took some jigling but it happened, then i remeber i had to fit in all my crates and ridding gear, its always the same crates and i had them stacked everywhere, not one petrol can but 4 x 4lt tins, oil , spare levers you name it it always goes in the van. Now here is where i realised i have issues. after unloading the car taking all the shit to the pits , then lugging it all back again and trying to force it back from wence it came. I got to thinking why ?
Like why do i take the box full of levers ? most of which include modern ktm/wr/cr twin pivot style to a pre 75 race ? why do i take 3 cans of chain lube ? the closer i looked the more fear of forgetting somthing became obvious. Have a closer look at the pics in that crate is brake fluid - What the ? last time i looked my pre 75 had no disk brakes ? a spare coil off who knows what , a bottle of coolant ?, a complete gasket set ? ( what engine am i rebuilding in the dirt ) the more i looked through my crates all rammed under and over the bikes, i realised i have a obsessive problem, a fear of not having the part i need with me ? then maybe i should just, actually fix my bikes BEFORE i get to the track ? :o
after today "light bulb " moment - I have made a note and stuck it to my fridge (after unloading the van) to cut my boxes to only pre 75 parts to only Pre 75 meets. Also i took these foto's to print out later to remind me to get my act together before the next run. ::) Just as worrying was at that point i was already half unloaded :'(
