Probably the cheapest and easiest option is an 80/81 (from memory) Suzuki PE 250/400 swingarm

Fits easily and you can use the PE wheel if you choose.

Geoff Morris makes and alloy unit for the XT/TT, not sure about prices. I've seen one and it will never flex

Bloody hell, made in Thailand for 20 odd dollars. I nearly spend that on Argon & filler rod. ???

Mine are priced at $880.00 including GST. Requires standard TT / XT pivot bearings & YZ chain adjusters.
I based them on the HL banana arm and just changed the pivot section & shock mount positions to suit the standard frame,  they are around 50mm longer than the stock TT / XT.

The White Bros looks a good unit, the Thailand one looks neat but the geometry looks the same as stock, & mine are expensive by comparison but I believe the geometry to be good, The RM / PE is a good alternative but I was led to believe that they are about 100mm longer than stock which is a bit much, not sure if their is a particular model that is a good length for them
Just depends on what your looking for.

I will get a decent camera one day.

There's no doubting the quality of your stuff Geoff.. First class!  Every bit as good if not better than anything made in the US.

Yeah I have a White Brothers swingarm for TT and GMC one in my HL.... GMC one is nicer but WB has that cool banana shape. The PE Swingarm really needs some work, it is too long and that puts the shocks in the wrong place.

Geoff I must get round to sending you the PDI arm for cut and shut.

yeah the klx250 arm works well, the shock mounts are the same as stock you need to machine some weld in stepped washers  due to different pivit bolt size and its 50mm longer and works well with 15 inch shocks

Would the PE/RM swingarm be the shot for dirt track, extending the standard TT/XT swingarm 2.5 inches is the go apparently? building up a tt for dirt track any tips?

I've tried standard length, 2" longer and 4" longer (PE) on my XT's and settled on the PE swingarm for all three of my modified bikes.

Snowy your post turned up while I was writing mine.

PE swingagrm and a MOTOX tractionator X circuit, 120/18 tyre.
It will slide forever and get drive while it is sliding.

PE swingarm is wider and easier to fit than an RM. Change the forks and triple clamps as well, PE/RM fork legs with YZ triples. The bike will just follow the front no matter what the back is doing.

Brent J's bike handles extreemly well and is very stable at speed ( probably the exta length ) so If he says Pe then I would certainly believe him.

Asasin,

How did you find the way it turned? A lot of people think that the longer swingarm will make it slow to turn but changes to the front end will fix this.

After Conondale I've put on two MOTOZ tyres which make it turn much easier and I've played with the suspension. Conondale gave me some new ideas and directions for the suspension overall.
Basically, what you rode was a pig!

I guess we also overlooked the alloy TT swingarm, bolts straight in, then you need to mess with the , rear brake backing plate, brake lever depending on how old the bike is you are fitting it to.

I am doing TT at the moment with 2J2 (CDI) engine, WB swinger and Simons forks, should be decent.

I found it a little twitchy (sledged) when turned really tight but that was probably the tyre. It turned very fast if needed It was definatly no pig! you need to ride more old bikes ,try anything pre 74 (just kidding) prehaps you could fly out and set up my RM B or shall i just ship it directly to you ;D

It's taken me ages to reply to this, thanks asasin, I appreciate the comments.

I have fitted a new tyre which has helped. I've slowed the rebound which is making the front stick better and I've moved the bars forward about 35mm. All three things have made a big difference. See you at CD6 for your next test ride?

As for coming over to play with your bike...............if i could, I would in a flash, it's just that life gets in the way of these things

Cheers
