That arm is beautiful, but I really lust after Karl's HRC "Coke Bottle" swingarm. ;D

Thats a very cool looking swingarm - I have one of his standard straight ones on my 78 CR250 and its great.
Just one question - why the f... do they have to play that crappy loud music all the way through any youtube videos! Every budding director thinks they're on Crusty Demons - it bugs me no end. Its the audio version of tattoos...
Cheers,
Mark

My pick for this years BEST quote ;D ;D ;D

You know you are getting old when you don't like that loud new fangled music them young'uns play ;) :D :P

What a nice piece of work , anyone know how much ?
-
US$795 + shipping
-
Thats a bargain for that price . I remember I bought some special ones for my 540 KTM in 86 and that cost $1200.00 then. ( And only lasted for 10 races) But today we have better materials and better welding and heat treatment .

Now that's the kind of thing I was 'discussing' with Karl on the other thread. If a swingarm design has an historic precendent as this swingarm seems to have, I reckon it's kosher for our rules but I still maintain that the other swingarms aren't. At $1227Au plus shipping it ain't cheap but in this sport you get what you pay for and this Honda swingarm looks like a pretty good thing.
I've gotta agree with Mark about the background music. It bugs me to the end too. If it ain't thrash metal it's that boring as batshit techno crap. I reckon a better idea would be an overdub of Karl explaining the technical qualities and construction technique of the product.
I have to aplaud Karl for manipulating You Tube to place 1.38 minutes of free advertising though. Priceless.

Stay tunned! This week I will be finishing my Fox Factory Retro arm for a customer in GB. I will post it on youtube in a couple of days. And on the dube music? COME ON! you guys are to young to be getting old! I can't decide now between Jingle bells as bed music or Godsmack? Karl

Great work Karl, I want one.
As for those two old farts and the music, maybe a couple of sweet little Bing Crosby numbers will keep them happy as they sit there with their blankets on their laps doing crossword puzzles.
What year model is the coke bottle arm for Karl, it seems to be for a rear disc bike. I'd buy one for my 1983 CR250.

Bruce, The Coke bottle is for a 1989 or so. The 1981-83 CR will take kind of a half an half coke bottle arm. If you look at the Works bikes the top half is flat and the bottom half has the Coke bottle shape. Later on someone decided to put the coke bottle shape on the top and the bottom. Also I just finished that Retro Fox arm for a customer, check it out! Let me know what you think? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36YFD0zBimw (sorry for the bad boy music! could'nt get choir music to work!) Thanks Karl
