Just got given a complete 87 Honda CT125 with a dead engine.
I want to get it running, so I can give it to a mate who lets me ride on his property occasionally.
My first thought was to get a Chinese engine for it, but I can't find anything on Ebay.
And then if I did find something, how will I know if it fits?
Or has anyone got a running CT125/185/200 engine they want to sell for not-too-much money?

So whats dead about the engine Nathan? They are pretty simple to fix and parts are easy to get. Is it a points or CDI model? I have a few spares for the 125cc models (a dozen or so wrecks). Two piece head XL engines are the same . Forget fitting up the 200 auto agi motor to that frame too ;) and the 185 Skippers are rare. Tim

Its got no compression (like none - like something is broken), and is missing ignition pick-up stuff (there's the plate with the pick-up dangling by the wires, and nothing else).
Cam chain is still intact and the cam still rotates, FWIW.
No enthusiasm for spending real time or money on it - which is why the engine swap appeals - but could be talked into having a proper look.

Will this engine fit? It looks like a Honda copy engine to my untrained eye, and has the bonus of coming with some YZ125 bits...

Chinese copy of TTR Yamaha you most likely have to fart around making engine mountings etc. Still looks a fair deal for the bits
