Title: PE250B longer shocks
Post by: basil44 on November 16, 2008, 11:01:29 pm
Hey fellas,Im about to start doing up my PE250B and wanted to put a pair of Ohlins shocks on that Ive had lying about. The std shocks are about 365mm long and the Ohlins 400mm.I was going to counteract the back by putting RM125B or C forks in it (want to try to keep the weight down).Good idea or not?Does anyone know where to get NOS guards and sidecovers from or are Vintage Suzuki ones OK?. Thanks John.

the problem will the in the chain/swing arm pivot area. the longer shocks will put too much of a angle on the swing arm and chain may rub/hit swing arm a lot more than usual and will rip through the buffer in no time. i dont recommend going this much longer. a better option would be to shorten the shocks, either by shortening shaft and or shorter lower eye, both easily done. chances are they already have too much shaft stroke for the 250 B anyway.
