If you go to your local motorcycle dealer and order a mcs multi fit jobbie, they have a t bar arrangement with for different threads and two bosses with to exterman threads each, you will never have to buy another one, I have just used one to remove the flywheel on my YZ400F and it worked a treat

just found some old yz250 and yz400 sevice manuals gen 1979
yz 250 m18 puller
yz 400 m27 thread puller
so any one got a m18 puller

i think i have this same problem. im working on a YZ490 that has what i was told to be a YZ 250 (dont know what year) internal rotor ignition with hitachi CDI unit. i have looked in my MCS book and cant really see the correct puller listed. i did take a gamble and ordered one the rep told me was right but when i got it it wasnt long and hollow enough to fit over the end of crankshaft. It needs to be a 20 or 22mm? thread but the puller has to be long an hollow to fit over the end of the crankshaft thread.

Had the same problem with the 125 and 250H after buying a "universal" one that didn't fit I had to "modify" one of the arms. Unfortunately I won't be near the workshop for a fortnigh otherwise I would post it to you. IF you can wait i can still do that. Cheers

the batterys are flat in my digital thingys so i ll give a rough measurment. with the other ones

ok so thats no good for what i need. im pretty sure i need 20mm or might be 22, cant remember. it has to scew into an internal rotor

You can make one very easily using a hollow rear axle with the correct thread.
I used an old XL/MT axle, 20mm diam, M18 thread I think.
Cut to length, clean up excess thread, drill out to give clearance over crank end and weld suitable nut on the plain end.
Screw bolt into nut and you have a puller. This worked a treat on my 250G. Should be good for all the later
Hitachi inner rotors.
