Can any-one with an RM100 A,RM125 M/S Model tell me what the tank is made out of steel or alloy?
-
Steel, I have one of those tanks for my TM-S 185 project.
-
The M at least is similar to the TM125 tank and it's steel. Or at least mine is.
-
The RM125A had alloy but I too think the 100A had the left over 125M tanks fitted as they were basically RM125M sleeved back. I'd love an RM100 in any year up to '78 but they're scarce as.

thanks guys, just a curiosity thing for me since I was looking through some old parts catalogues I have trying to identify this steel tank (for a fellow enthusiast) which looks like the RM type, ie; yellow with black "suzuki". Very small though, I thought perhaps off a 50/75cc or similar. :-\

TM75?? RM80B/C?? if it has a screw in type tap it's the 80B/C if the tap is held on with 2 screws it's a TM/TS75. The TM tank also had a 'sharper edge' pressed shape where the RM is round all over. RM50 or JR50 are smaller again but the tank cap is chrome half twist type and not the regular type screw on plastic job. The JR50 tank is not much larger than an oil reservoir on a regular bike.. it's tiny! Cute almost if I may use that word in this macho vmx world :P :D

screw on cap and screw in type fuel tap as well, sounds like an 80B/C or perhaps the 100/125 (did the larger bikes have screw in taps in 1975?)
-
yup but they were alloy tanks ;)
-
Yep i have a 125s the tank seems to be aluminium and the 250a is aluminium, the 100a not sure
-
The 125S tank I have is steel......hope this adds to the confusion!
-
yes agreed CanAm all the '75 RM125S, 125M and the RM100A tanks were steel.
The RM100A uses the same steel tank as a 125M and the '74 TM125.
RM100B uses the same alloy tank as the RM125A and B.
only the '76/'77 RM125 and the '77 RM100 (as well as RM250/370A/B) had alloy tanks ;)
