Hi guys
I am trying to put a value on a collection of Maico's
They are all restored and include
1. a 1978 Maico 25 Magnum (absolutely original)
2. a 1982/3 Maico 250 Single shock ( superb condition)
3 a 1977 Maico 440 twin shock (absolutely original bar works performance rear suspension)
4. a fully restored 1981 Maico 490, full house race bike, electronic ignition, flat side carb, renthals, ali swingarm, section pipe, ali silencer, billet front and rear brake backing plates, billet clutch covers, billet gear lever, billet brake lever, new kick start.-absolutely immaculate. A four stroke destroyer
5 a 1981 Wulfsport Maico nickel plated frame, absolutely everthing new (plastics, rims, pipe, carb, frontfork internals, rear Ohlins, completely rebuilt and new motor, never riden since rebuild.
I am not a seller, I am interested to place a value on an aggregated collection. I had an offer to acquire a few more Maico's and I am interested to see where the value lies, either in an aggregate collection or individually.
I would appreciate any comments, suggestions or criticisms. I could probably post a few pics later on in the month.
Thanks
Gavin

Hi Paul
Here in South africa it is either feast or famine. Probably there are in the order 20 Maico's that have beebn restored and are of any standard.Unfortunately owned by maybe 4 collectors, with the odd person having a Maico. Very few people will commit the time or money to do a proper restoration.
I took a decision to collect Maico's and Honda aircooled motocross bikes. I now have about 25 bikes, the bulk of which are restored and a big hole in my bank account. I will update my photos when my two latest resto's are finnished
