can anyone tell me the dimensions of the headstem bearings and coolant seals for a 125h, i had to destroy the old ones your help is much appreciated cheers ::) ::)

Hi Bonehead, my advice is to go to your local yammie shop and buy an 'All Balls- steering kit' and replace the oil seals with genuine yammie seals. The lower seal is a bit different from a normal looking seal and the middle seal is like a half seal. If you need the part # let me know. But if you really want to know the oil seal sizes I can look it up for you.
But my advice is to go geniune if you dont want it leaking.

cheers for that , i did not know if all balls made a kit , just out of curiosity do they do swingarm bearing kit for this modle or maybe genuine only, thanks for your reply. ;D

Dont know about the swingarm bearing kit but when it comes time to replace them I will be looking around because the cost of genuine will blow the budget sky high. I'm sure they make a kit for the '84-'85 models. Maybe you could ask at your shop.

went down the yammie dealer this morning and told them what i require , got some strange looks, like why bother :-[ :-[ anyway im waiting on there price and availability i will let you guys know, do you think 84/85 swingarm bearings fit? cheers. ;D ;D

I bought genuine seals from the local dealer and all balls steering head bearings. Both worked well, but as you know she still leaks :( All Balls all good so far. Fitted beautifully and smooth as.

i replaced every seal and bearing in the rear end of my yz250h with genuine stuff without asking about the prices first with the local yammy dealer....jezzzus didnt i get a rude shock when i went to pick them up....certainly learnt a lesson in that department.... :o

The cost in NZ$ for 'All Balls Steering kit' $70; The 3 oil seals genuine $29.30 bottom seal; $23.30 middle seal ; $15.20 top seal ; and the genuine o-rings @ about $8.50 each.
Its a different story with the swingarm bearings (genuine)big $$$$... but I believe an 'All Balls Kit' is about $200.

holly crap the swingarm bearings are pricey, the headstem bearings and seals are fair in price ,lm just going to talk to the bank manager, i mean handbrake , i mean my wife before she hits powerband, about purchasing these items. ;) ;)

bearings seals and bushes for bottom of shock and swingarm......around from memory $380...... :'( :'(

The 'all balls' kit for the swingarm is including the linkage bearings and seals. Its not just for the swingarm bearings.

my local bloke said that they dont make a kit that goes that far back in time, so he suggested that maybe later modle will fit , any clues ?? ??? ???

Hi Bonehead, I have just done a seach and this is what you need in the way of bearings and bushs for the YZ125J model.
4x 93317-22208 bearing for the swingarm & top link to the shock.
4x 90386-22097 Bush(nylon) for the swingarm & top link to the shock.
2x 90380-16077 Bush(metal) for the swingarm
1x 90387-163F6 Bush(collar) for the top link to the shock.
The linkage bearing & bushes
1x 93315-22046 Bearing (upper link)
1x 90380-14095 Bush(metal) upper link
1x 5X6-22123 Bush (lower link)
2x 90384-16156 Bush (lower link)
This isnt including the oil seals or any shims etc.
The swing arm bearings are used on models up to 1983(YZ100K) and the nylon bushes are use up to 1985 on the Tri-Z ATV. The metal bushes are used up to 1987 on the IT200 and TT350.
The most commonly use bearing 93315-22046 is used on the WR250 in 1997 and its matching bush is used up to 1995 on the XT600.
90384-16156 is only used by 7 different bikes, mostly in 1982 but the IT175k used it also in 1983.
90387-163F6 is used by 5 bikes, last being the 1983 YZ100K.
5X6-22123 is used by 7 bikes, last being the 1983 YZ100k.
I hope this helps some way for you.
part # 93317-22208 is a roller bearing that could be a general sized bearing 28.5G NT. (I'm not sure what that means, but someone here might)
I try not to buy oil seals from my local dealer as I have all the Yammie part numbers for oil seals and what that part # means in actual sizes.
The best thing about the J models is they have grease nipples on the linkage system and seem to last for years and years, so its usually just the swingarm bearings/bushes that need replacing.

dj is it raining where you are ? or do you know the part numbers !, thats fantastic :o , i will save this info for when i return from holidays and give the missus sometime to relax before i spend up on the 125 h ,its just a racer, that needs some work will be my excuse. ;D ;D

Bonehead ya bastard ;D ;) I thought you had a YZ125J ;D but if ya just got a YZ125H all you need is 2 bearings 93317-22208, two nylon bushes 90386-22097 and two metal bushes 90380-16077 and the two oil seals that ya need are 93109-22018 which is 22mm-29mm-4mm. :D I should've read you first posting about the H/J thing and that ya only have a H. But hey someone might need the part numbers ;D. and it wasnt raining so I needed to get out on 2 of my bikes and make sure they were running ok. I thought my YZ125J's powervalve wasnt working very well because I kept loosing the top end but it was just a blocked main jet. And my YZ125G hasnt been running well so I was just playing around with its jetting. I have slowly been building up info on YZ's and parts manuals so that when I get a problem I can maybe fix it.
By the way, in my YZ125G I didnt put in any nylon bushes but, I put in a second set of bearing and another set of oil seals. It has worked a treat. You YZ125H Is the same set-up so you could do the same if you wish.
Oh and after a while ya start to understand Yammie part numbers so it doesnt take to long to figure it all out. ;D ;D

Have a look in here. $90 US would sound cheap from what you guys have been saying. Explains why whoever had my 250H has done away with bearings and employed 2 phoshor bronze bushes. Not what I'd call ideal - I will probably go for this myself.

Hey Guys, can i just put my 2cents in concerning xtreme yz ,in my experience i've found them xtremely (pun intended) frustrating 2 deal with ie sent an email 17aug yet 2 reply, last of many emails.

That J number plate certainly looks at home on the H model 8). I think the guy that designed the H number plate had a ripping hangover the day he decided to design that part ;D ;D or was on seriously good drugs. The only way I can see you would think that H plate looked cool !!
Keep the photos coming mate. There seem to be heaps of blokes on here with 125H's.
