Title: Hi there from the "dark side"
Post by: ChrisACT on October 28, 2008, 12:58:49 pm
Hey all,

Just thought I'd say g'day.  Chris here, from Canberra.

I'm currently a member of the Post Classic Racing Association and I run a Yamaha DT100 as a Superlite and Forgotten Era road racer.

So, while I'm not strictly a dirt bike guy, I guess we might have some things in common as I try and make my DT100 go harder and do things that probably weren't within it's design brief.

I look forward to discussions on all things bike related.

Chris.

Thanks, Ross.  With any luck, I might even be able to help some of you guys too.

Welcome Chris.
My first Yamaha was a DT100A.

Welcome Chris.
My first Yamaha was a DT100A.
Mine was a DT100D, but that frame got bent in a crash.  I'm now in the process of getting my DT100C frame race ready with the engine out of the DT100D.

I'm ACT and one of my first bikes was a DT100A!  They go like the powers up thru the gears....then you realise you're doing all of 60kmh..... ;D ;D ;D

Lots of DT100A's out there then.  Yeah, they're not really designed to do high speeds.

The plan is to get mine doing considerably more than 160. ;D  I've already had it doing 120 but it had a fuel problem that day so it could've gone better than that.  The new engine should have twice the HP of the current one when it's finished so we'll see how we go.
