For some reason people don't realise the weight of a tree. I drop a mid size tree in the front yard - one and a half tons, three loads to the tip.

(I used Paul's method, climb the tree and take a branch at a time, lob of 3-4 foot of the trunk, move down. I was quoted $2500. Did it DIY for $200 and half a day - $100 electric chainsaw from Buntings and three loads to the tip in the old faithfull twin cab. And I've still got the chainsaw ;). And no sissy safety harness here boy.;D)
