Title: 1983 RM500 in VMX.

I have a a fairly good original running RM500 1983 model. I hope in time ( Skills no where near good enough yet ) to race the bike in VMX.

Being factory original as Suzuki made it comes standard with flat slide carby. Flat slide carby as I understand it are not allowed in VMX. 
The bike was produced factory stock with that carby do the rules still require I change it, or are factory built bikes with flat slides allowed to run the stock factory set up?

The RM500 is pre'85 and perfectly legal as the flatslide was o.e.m , period specific flatslides like lectrons etc are o.k but no flatslides in pre'75 though.
