Title: YZ 250 G and H pipes the same ??
Post by: YZ250H on October 15, 2008, 03:11:09 pm
Before I put Billet YZ to the trouble of going across town I'd better make damn sure the pipes are the same.  From what I can gather the barrel is the same, the exhaust mounts are the same, springs etc all match, tank is the same (apart from the YEIS bottle mounts).

Over to the experts ::).  I'd hate to go to all this trouble for it not to work.

I just checked my diagrams/part numbers they have the same part numbers but with different prefixes but use all the same other parts and both the diagrams are the same too. I think it would be safe to assume enough similarity for it not to matter.

Isnt the 250H pipe slightly larger but the mounting points are the same, and the exhaust ports on the H barrel are wider at the top but not by much...... I think ???

That's funny.  The experts I had in my mind both replied.  Thanks CG and DJ.
Having thought about it a bit more I can still send my (half stuffed) pipe to GMC to help him out.

If I send it down we can compare them side by side too.

I am up to 9 and the missus says that's enough ::) - obviously she has ne sense of humour  :D

Definitely going to CD6.  Hope to be bringing the 250 and the 465 I just bought 8) 8).  In the words of big Kev (RIP big fella)...I'm Excited.  Don't have it home yet, but I can't wait.  I'll post some photos when I get it.  Not as pretty as yours, but very tidy and not a lot of work to make concourse.

Want that sprocket cover back yet  ;D ;D ;D

Edit - I haven't forgotten about those JD's mate ;).  I owe a few blokes on here a drink, so I'll be bringing the crewman with the big esky in the back
