Just found this - it was sitting in some long grass, and I thought it wasa TS125 or 185, so I knocked on the bloke's door.
Red/orange tank, with a white stripe.
According to the sticker on the head tube, its a 72 or 73 model.
Has a dual range gearbox.
Rotary valve.
Little front wheel (18" by the looks).
Chrome/stainless mud guards.
What is it called?
Similar to a 'normal' trail bike?
-
Sounds like a potential Dunger class bike!
-
Sounds like a KV100.
I have some KV100 engine bits for free if ya want them!! :)

Near enough, Bill.
This one's got less of the crash-protection bars and big racks, has stainless/chrome guards, and was originally a candy-apple-ish red (bit hard to tell now that its super faded) with the old-style "KAWASAKI" lettering down the tank.
But defintiely the same basic bike. If it wasn't for the dual range transmission, you'd almost think that my bike was the trail bike version - like a CT1 is compared to an AG175, I guess.
Greg, Cool, I'll grab 'em off you when I drop off that which I owe you (this week sometime - I'll call you to organise).
DG, I'm going to borrow one of Doc's lines to answer that: "I must be part blow-fly, 'cause I'm attracted to shit".
Mike, maybe. I've got a TC100 too. And an MX100 (although its not eligible). Stupid thing is that I really want a DT100 or TS100 for the fly class. ::) Talk about being hard to please...

May be a G4TR Agi they predate the KV100 Nathan. What does the engine number say?
-
Hi Nathan:-
Definately a G4TR. I used to own three of these, and one was a metallic maroon colour as you have described, Good little bike, and you could flog them all day, without a problem.Have actually rode one up the local landmark known as Bowning hill, long before there was a road made up it.
Cheers from Johns.

If anybody wants one,I've got one of these little dual range kwakas......new piston and ring (never started),p/coat frame, new seat,XR & CR80 plastic guards(new but faded)new crank seals and early RM80 forks (but you can change them) Built it for my young bloke but at six foot six he outgrew it too quick !!!...........$300

Tim and John get the silerware - its a G4TR.
I'm guessing that is a bit later than the one Tim sent me a pic of - mine has a fatter fuel tank, and big ugly reflectors on the side of the head-light mounts.
-
If its candy red with a white stripe ,same as mine, its an earlier '72 to '74 model ,the orange one in the pic is the '76/'77 model (I have one of those too !)
