Title: QVMX AGM
Post by: Stewy138 on September 26, 2008, 09:14:36 am
What is the deal with the QVMX AGM - I notice it is over 2 days.  Does that involve a ride or two ?

hey tony just a little note :o
before you and a lot of others were riding vintage
brisbanes club track for many years was a grass track at boonah
we used to all travel down there to ride cause thats what you did
and qvmxs first track was at verrisdale near beudesert
so we always for years travelled down there :o
brisbane lost there track at boonah through no fault of them :'(
but if it was still being used i would be there even if it is 2 and a half hours drive
brisbane track at nudgee is ok but you need a bit of variety
with all the mettings in qld a year you can pick and choose were to ride if you dont want to race every month i think its great we have another track at gympie tracks are hard to come by
after all we ride for fun and enjoyment except maybe my case to beat bill but thats another story ;D ;D ;D

Jeez Tony ease up mate >:( you should be greatful that we can find property owners that will allow us to ride let alone where they are!!  It must be remembered that we started this whole thing along time ago before most of the clubs current members. All of our tracks were on the "South Side" at Verisdale, Jimboomba, Smiths Rd Boonah ect!!  and the Northeners had to travel but we didn't once complain. You could count the numbers of current members on one hand, in the club now that rode on those tracks ::).  We love the  whole sport it's a life style.  I for one one wouldn't give a shit if I had to travel ++++ hours to ride, I'd do it because I love VMX.
As for being the president of QVMX, wern't you the "PHANTOM" ::)
Lighten up and be happy that you have a variety of tracks and such a pro-active commitee.

Nah IMS it's next weekend and it two days of "FUN" (some have lost sight of that fact!) no racing just riding sessions of 30mins, camping, some "FREE PISS"!!! and the Drive-in next door!   What more could you ask for in a VMX ride!

Good evening every body.
Tony, of course there will be a vote , if this track is to become one of our regular tracks.

conondale was not avalable and this was, and the best all around site for what we needed to hold the agm.
Also many meeting have been held through the year, and they where held near to the brisbane and sunshine coast areas, as best to suit all our members.

We have 3 main track as you know, to allow a fair go to our riders, so we all have to travel, that is just the way it is.
So once "again", see you at the agm, where it should be a great weekend of riding, and friendship.

cheers

it would be nice to see people just refer to the QVMX web site and you will see it has been voted on as per the AGM minutes for 2007 when we had a phantom President, and it is quite interesting to also see the apologies for non present members, wonder who that could be?

I make a simple positive statement for interest of this new venue and i get run over the mill about what is right, i find it hard to believe that all this info is available to those and meetings have been conducted as per the consitution! the last general meeting we had three ordinary members showed interest  after the committee travelling between 100 to 150 klms each. this is not the forum or place to make grandstand points without any facts!

This will be my last post and as you will all see i have removed anything to do with worms from the webpages.

All i  have tried to do is promot a sport and oversee the running of this great club and have done nothing but allow the committee to do its job.

Shame on me

Gosh some people have short memories, re the reference's to  " The Phamton President " for the two members that made the statement which seems to be in spite, here is how it was:

Connandale AGM, Harvey was appointed president, when calls came for vice president not one person stuck up there hand, after much humming and harring one guy stepped forward, Tony Brown, now as my memory serves me correct,he excepted with Harvey claiming that the position was only as a figure head and that he would have very little to do [ as it stood this guy had only been with the club for 3 weeks priour to this and just wanted to help]. As we all know Harvey resigned and the presidency was thrust upon Tony, which he took up with the promise of help from various people. For what ever reasons, whether conflict of personalities and work committments Tony decided to resign for the better of the club. Maybe people should find out the full facts, and others who know better shouldn't lower themselves for self gratification.

Good morning graham

I think the reference to the "phantom presedent" , reflects not what you are stating, but to comments that tony made earlier, which has been removed from the web site.

He had commented that the new track being used, have not been voted on, and that meetings for the club had not been held.

Members have just pointed out, that meetings had been held and that the new track had been voted on at the last AGM 07, which we had given his apologies, not being able to attend.

cheers

Sorry kdxman but you will find if you look at the 2007 agm minutes that it was not voted on as a RACE venue to replace Coles Creek as mentioned by someone else. I have the minutes of that meeting and it does not state anywhere that it was voted on to replace Coles Creek as a race venue. It was a proposed venue for a 2 day practice weekend to see what it was like. This practice weekend was held in early 2008.   I don't want another saga aired on this forum but I have had this rammed down my throat on this forum once too many times and I wont stand by and be rail roaded either..   we did have that weekend and i thouroughly enjoyed it . . now before you go punching into your keyboards  you should know that i love the track and would vote on it for a 2 day practice venue as it has a dam and a drive in and it makes the trip all the more worth it, and provides  a fantastic venue for famillies to enjoy a full entertaining weekend. I would be concerned about the numbers on a single 1 day race day however....so if you want it as a race venue then call a vote, as it has NOT been voted on. At the latest agm the president mentioned we had so many track options that we could almost ride on a different track every time, I recon we should try these out then vote and that way the club members have their say .

Gentlemen please let it go. i will say though everthing that is put forward is debated on prior to a vote and generaly those comments are not minuted, the facts are Coles Ck is under resumption order for stage 2 of the Traveston crossing which was why we found another track to bring on for the memmbers in the northern region, if you would like the owners contact to verify this please ring me, as to the vote on weather we race or its a practice day that is entirely up to your committee, or why bother having one if we have to have a full memmber vote on everthing.

i'm am really over this and just look forward to 2009.
