I always get a laugh at some of these adds, Quote "These old XT500 & TT500 parts are very sought after now".
There's an XT for sale up here for $3000. No seat, no guards, nothing in any sort of good condition but his "mate" (who probably knows SFA about bikes) told him it's really rare and reckons it's worth heaps.
There are XT's and TT's that sell for big dollars but they are show room restos, even to the point of correct part No cables and such. Some people see these adds and think the old shitter in the shed will provide early retirement.
You can buy just about anything from Yamaha and there is still a lot of cheap stuff around. I keep an ear to the ground and have enough spares to keep two bikes going for as long as I'll ever be able to ride and then some.
