Looking for a Mechanic in Victoria with experience rebuilding early Elsinore engine / transmission.

Good luck.
Apparently it’s difficult to find people to work on bikes. (And cars/houses)
Most people with experience on Elsinores would be even older than me!

It would appear you're right, 185 views on the post and only one reply!

Hi the 250 and 125 are easily repaired using the orignal owner manuals quite comprehensive and good pictures when in doubt also showns bearing sizes and types.Just depends on what your issues are with your engine to the skill set needed.

Interesting point about the number of views. I did notice the large change in number of views about 3 years ago. With no new members since September 22 and declining active members the high numbers of views started to look a bit odd. I brought that up with my IT guy and he told me more than 90% of views are Artificial, done by the huge search engines. That means a question is not as valuable as a for sale, because search engines are not a member, they cannot communicate or interact on this forum. However, as a “for sale” it can work magic, especially if something is rare. It is important that your contact details are part of the post. (Phone number or E-mail) I have tried it and it works. For example, my water-cooled Jumbo found a great new home in the Netherlands, after I tried to sell in Australia for years. Just an observation I made. At the time of posting there were over 1000 “guests “ viewing…….. :)

Recently Google changed its method of searching to AI based. This is why we now have an AI brief at the start of every search often full of disinformation. Google use to provide results based on a ratings system now its how much you pay Vs what the AI considers correct. Yes many viewers will be Bots mining the content for key words for storage within Googles base where they can be interpreted by googles Algorithms and with AI in its infancy more visits via Bots will be required so it can learn, hence the increase of visitors. OZXMX was always one of the highest rated because of its traffic flow and constant updates , Now its an archive of great information. As for a decent mechanic id ask around the Vic based clubs and as mentioned Hondas arnt that techy and plenty of info floating around .

The two main issues are sorting out the inherent gearbox problems and rebuilding the crank....May as well reco the lot whilst its in bits.
