Title: pe400 engine rebuild
Post by: Paul Jeffs on October 24, 2020, 10:26:11 am
Hi
I have a 1980 pe400 that needs an engine rebuild. I know parts are scarce. Can anyone offer advice on possible leads or alternatives
Cheers Paul

Always start with your local Suzuki dealer, it's surprising what is still available all-stock!

All boils done to what condition your Rod is in .....the rest is all basic engine skills on how you pull it apart, having the correct
 tools
All bearings I buy from a bearing shop >>>note ask for C3
buy NOS crank seals and the rest from your bearing supplier
I make all my own gaskets
best advise I can give you is .....have a clean bench and take plenty of pics if you are first timer

I was having a search through the bike wreckers in Cairns last week and noticed a PE400 cylinder on the shelf , in the Suzuki section . I didn’t have a look at the bore , but if your cylinder has already been bored out to near it’s limits , it might be worth it to buy the other cylinder .
