got home tooday and a parcel had arrived for me :-\ nothing unusual 'bout that.
It was from the US and a purchase I made on egay less than 2 weeks ago. Nothing unusual about that either..
-
inside were a couple of sacred Suzuki footpegs ;D oh joy!!
-
It's nice when they arrive quick :D, I got my helmet cam in 7 days from the US.
-
CG yes, but wait, that's not all...these footpegs looked so similar to my pre'79 RM's I thought for $9.90US + post I'd take a punt seein' as what the local shops sell the bling stuff for :o I whipped off my RM125A peg (similar excepting pin size to all my other RM's in the garage) and low and behold..they slot straight in 'insert huge monumentalously big happy smile here' makes the old one look a little pissy but eh, you pay the price! the new fatty ones are bloody heavy duty and weigh twice or more than the old ones and you'll need to drill out the pin hole and also drill another 2.5mm hole down the guts for the spring (which can incidently be shortened on the locating end if the idea of drilling through an inch of solid metal bothers you) ;)
-
hence I fitted one and it certailny..oops..certanly.shit!!!! certainly!! I meant..anyway it looks the goods and my goods feel a whole lot less stressed!! :D
not saying there is anything wrong with standard suzuki footpegs heaven forbid!! but these are RM80 and keeping with RM so it's not really a sin :P ;)
-
it's just a good news story is all and the seller has more..I'd pondered for ages and now I know so go to it!! ;)
seller is billetmotoparts item number for example is 190252215106 $9.90US buy it now and $16.50 postage which he actually lost 90cents. Great stuff and I'll be buying another pair..errr..when our dollar goes back up ;)
-
oh and they gave me a 15% saving Gold Card for more online shopping bargains! They must have known I'd be back ;D
-
Tried them on your TM yet?
-
nah, they're a different setup but the '79 and later RM/PE pegs swap over to the TM's. These ones are for the RM125 and 400. I do like/use the later PE/RM pegs and won't be fitting the fatty ones to the pre'75's..think they may look a little silly on the TM ;)

After the slot was opened from 12 to 13mm & tweek the springs .... they fit beautifully .....
-
Phuck, the Suzuki footpeg worshipping cult are at it again, will it reach 2498 posts 1,908,732 views and 27 pages? ARRRRGH ! :o
comment made in jest before anyone gets upset ! ;D
-
As much as it really frightens me to encourage the weird little Suzuki footpeg cult.......I just bought a pair myself.
Thanks for the lead in Doc.

Ah the Suzuki footpeg line...funny how these things can take on a life of their own.
To drop 'Suzuki footpegs' into a conversation with anyone not on the forum would likely draw a blank stare.
But they've almost become a mascot or a symbol on this forum. :D
-
Thats it ! I'm buying a set as well .My RM125 could do with the platform shoes(pegs).
