Google is not providing much assistance locally and Ebay prices for a Barnett kit are ridiculous. Anyone know where you can get a complete clutch kit (friction plates, steel plates and springs for a 79 Honda XL500?

Any good bike shop that deals with wholesalers of EBC/Goodridge/Pro-X

Thanks for the responses - was more interested in getting a complete kit from the same manufacturer like the Barnett kits on Fleabay rather than pieces from different ones. Will try the local Honda dealer (who I don't have much faith in given their past record).

This is an old bike now so you often dont get a 'full kit'. You usually have to buy separate springs, steels and frictions. Having said that i am sure EBC would have all the parts its just that they probably only sell the stuff separate and not packaged as a kit in one box. I guess this is better because some people may only want the springs and some only need frictions so this way they dont buy unnecessary parts they dont need. Some of the more newer bikes you can buy a all in one kit.

OK. So I finally got around to getting the clutch kit at Wemoto.
The manual says to put a new clutch lock nut in - after looking on the net they are not easy to find. I have feeling it's not really that necessary. Thoughts?
