Title: 94 CR 250 non OEM crankshaft
Post by: tcbp285 on December 23, 2019, 02:50:33 pm
Hello, I am needing to replace the crankshaft in a 94 CR250. What has been peoples experience with a non OEM crankshaft ? Over the years there seems to be a few problems reported online with aftermarket part failures. Any truth in this ??
I believe  OEM is still available but wanting to know the full story before purchasing.

Cheers Tim.

I have never used a non OEM crankshaft. I can't really comment on them other than nothing fits/works like OEM

I have used a fair few HOT ROD rod kits with good success.
Most of the problem with CR cranks is the tin covers on the crank.
Serco in Brisbane have done a few re-rods for me lately with good results

You can also buy a 07 CR 250 crank new they don't have tin covers

Hope this helps
