If it is a 79mm bore as per XL350 it is only 285cc and not 305. Those pistons will go into an over bored stock cylinder and from memory could be the Bert Kingston big-bore piston.

Serco sold a 305 kit with a forged Venolia piston and a sleeve but it was 82mm bore.

Stock XL250 is 74x57.8mm and XL350 is 79x71mm.
XL250 stock cylinder can be bored to 79 without problems and even up to 80 but over that a bigger sleeve is required.
That means that 79mm x 57.8mm is about 285cc which is the most common big bore piston from the era.
