Title: KLX 250 Standard Needle or replacement
Post by: Husabergpete on June 09, 2019, 03:13:37 pm
Afternoon guys,

KLX used at Braidwood VTR the other week pinged due to lean neeedle.

Owners manual says it should be a a Mikuni  Jet Needle  6H2-2.

Not whats in it. Had a look on Mukunioz but couldn't find it.  I heard it might be a `special' .

What can be used as a standard replacement needle?

Kind regards

Pete

Hi John,

Not sure as yet. But I know it's not the standard one. Was planning get hold of the standard one and do it all in one go

Cheers Pete

I ended up using the standard needle on the leanest or next leanest setting with a one size smaller needle jet. I spent a whole day faffing with the needle position only to end up where it had been in the first place. Standard is P-2 so I bought the next leanest that Allens Performance [UK] make. For some markest at least the KLX came too rich. Journos back in the day complained about a stumble/hesitation and blamed the carb. It was just the jetting
