Looking to buy a set of guards for a 1973 KTM/Penton. Not probably going with original alloy. What are DC Plastics like to deal with. Same guards advertised at Maxwells and VMX Unlimited but I believe there are issues purchasing via them.

Always good service from doc plastics,our exchange rate isn't great at the moment,I have had some of there stuff turn up within a week of ordering,can't get much quicker buying local.

Hi Roscoe. Use DC plastics as a last resort. I haven’t paid attention to other sites to see if there is a reproduction 73 mudguard. I have used Preston Petty in the past and just recently and would highly recommend them. Not sure if you can find a mx rear guard from PP as I am into vinduros now. DC rear mx guard is a poor fit as are most of their products. I never liked the look of the original guard and they were breakable. Enjoy the bike as it is a goodn

“Postal Service operations will not be interrupted in the event of a government shutdown, and all Post Offices will remain open for business as usual,” said Linda Neill, strategic communication specialist, Denver, Colorado. “Because we are an independent entity that is funded through the sale of our products and services, and not by tax dollars, our services will not be impacted by a government shutdown.”
Any shutdown is caused by Democrat intransigence. Like it or not Trump received a mandate to build a wall.

USPS was left open under request from the Australian Government......Loss of GST income would would have created an economic collapse in Australia.
How the fork can we be charged GST on postage charges from the U.S ?

You mean the mandate where trump got about three million less votes than Clinton? The shutdown that trump said he would be proud to own? :-)

Postage from OS arrives at Customs for sniffing then sent to AP. The items are calculated and the amount is deducted from the amount of outgoing items to that country along with an invoice for services rendered.(Bit of a stink with customs wanting more for its services but) Every invoice for goods or services in OZ has GST.... unless its a cold bbq chicken.
There are still parcels arriving from the US though not as many as usual. This could be the $ or other US businesses being effected, dont know dont care but there are a lot less .
i didnt think anyone liked DC plastics as the colours were off and the orange peel finish, .. The PP stuff looks decent and you can buy it here.

Rosco - if you do buy from DC ask then NOT to drill the holes in the side plates - they must have a crappy jig because on my 2 Pentons the holes were way off - or the KTM factory welded tabs at random places but I don't think so......
Do the holes yourself to get a good fit.

Thank you everyone for the info. The 73 Penton has been a long process. Used to ride one back in the day in sub juniors when Stephen Cramer and Skippy Parsons we’re racing them in A and B grade. Found a frame that had been heavily modified with an Aspes motor, 250 swing arm and forks. Found a motor and just about got everthing re engineered back to stock. Know the foibles of thegearbox but I was keen to have something a little bit different. A few mentioned Peston Petty guards might be a better option and that they are available in Oz. Can someone tell me who is the supplier of these.

Any decent bike shop should be retailing them. Paul at Discount in Coburg sold me a set and I also bought another set direct from Petty/Polisport out of the US.
