Title: ls it allowed, shock forward mounts but not used?
Post by: John Orchard on January 01, 2019, 02:42:35 pm
So l build-up a Pre 70 / Pre 75 bike, can l weld forward mount rear shock mounts on the swingarm but not use them in the Pre 70/75 class but switch the shocks over for a Pre 78 race?

Or is it classified as an illegal swingarm in the older classes?

HHHmmm

Technically I think you should be right because you were allowed to strengthen in the day by welding a gusset, just because it has a hole in it?

Think about the fact they make you take of the side stand but the bracket is still there, they don't make you cut it away?

But not my field of expertise

John, Pre 1978 is for bike models designated 1975, '76 and '77 only- at least at the Nationals.

You could use it in EVO without any problems.
