Hello after a bit of advice on the best method of restoring engine cases, currently rebuilding 1975 MX 250b, bead blasted all cases and then painted but looks like crap, there are a lot of tiny scratch marks, corosion/porous marks and a few gouges, probably going to strip again, what would be a good product to fill most of the marks and blemishes, i thought of using bog but dont know how that will work as there not real deep but stick out, cheers

are you in Melbourne?
RK Engineering (in Garfield) is a Guru on engine case repairs, specialises in big sections broken or even missing and re machining.
cosmetic work like this would be easy for him to weld and clean up.

I have a cordless 80mm sander and heaps of orbital sanding discs. Just use different grades to sand out the scratches and get them looking smooth. you can use the JB weld that is for aluminium if you have gouges.
Cheers,

Pick something to fill the holes.
Primer and lots of wet sanding.
