Chasing for a friend,
Tank to suit 78/79 ?

did they even make a Kdx 78/79?

No KDX200 that early. First KDX was 79 model 250 and 400 twinshocks.

No KDX200's until 1983.

Ok so if its a 79/80 twinshock KDX250, then you will probably have to source a tank in USA because that model was not officially imported here so there wont be too many here.
I believe the tanks on those were made by Don Vesco Products in USA too or at least the fuel tap anyway as a number of parts were made in USA for these bikes.

250 & 400 twinshocks look similar and they are both relatively rare

If its a twinshock then it should look like this;
