Title: '87 WR400
Post by: AdamN on May 15, 2018, 03:59:48 pm
I have just acquired an '87 WR400 and the cylinder and head have been removed and came in a box with the bike.
Unfortunately the 4 long studs and all the nuts and bolts to attach the top end are missing.
Can anyone point me in the right direction where I could get the hardware? Anyone got any spare they want to sell?
Grateful  for any assistance as this is my first foray in to Husqvarna ownership other than my modern '16 TE300.

Cheers
Adam

Thanks Steve,

I have searched there and Vintage Husky and didn't see any! I am learning my way around these new sites!

Thanks

Great engine in these bikes , some of the rest needs attention. The engine mounts need checking all the time, The front disk crack ,rear shock  linkage needs attention. Once sorted an mighty mount. Enjoy .

try Phil at Husqvarnaparts.com as he has lots of stuff not on his website. he should have them or put you on to some. they are buggers for coming out as the head studs get a lot of crap on the nuts at the top and rust up.

Thanks for the tips. Ended up getting some off EvilBay.

Another question,

What exhaust's if any cross reference and fit an '87 400?

Mine has many repairs in the first 3 bends and doesn't fit up into the cylinder spigot like it should. Before I spent time/money repairing it are there other options?

Cheers Adam

phil has new pipes in stock, i think dyno port offer a wr 400 as well. either doesnt matter as the motor rips like all hell regardless of whats on it!

just seen on cafe husky...

"all 400 and 430 pipes can be swapped, the 85-86 had a different mount at the top, they are 90 degrees rotated, you can cut them off and reeled then or use the 85-86 mounts"
