Klx was running great but only lasted one lap in practise before starting to misfire above 3/4 throttle. I do remember it was getting harder to start when hot. It doesn't want to even start now and the spark looks and sounds weak. Everything has been checked(carb, cam, tappets, plug) and nothing has moved so I now suspect ignition. Does anyone know the specs to test cdi, stator, coil, pickup etc?? Or where I could send it all?? Thanks

Mine did the same thing at one stage , plug looked very rich ,ended up being a coil ,hard to start and flat up top , replaced the coil and good as new ,thanks bumper

Iv got a original factory manual if you want any specs, or I can sell to you?

Bumper your a legend! Yep my plug is rich as also. I'll test/replace coil first.

Curtis I have a manual but its missing pages. I can not find any ignition specs online. Could I have coil, stator, cdi etc readings? I'm now in a big panic cause the QLD evo titles are on in 3 wks.

Might be talkin outa turn sorry, but tend to think if it's sparking--if you can see spark, with a cdi system then it'll go!!. Not knowing these motors except i did have one at work about 40 years ago with a buggered cam--inlet lobe nearly gone, man was it gutless. BUT--i'm wondering it it's stuffed the key on the flywheel seeing i dare say the spark is triggered by a strip on the outside of the flywheel--in which case it would spark but somewhere other than near tdc. Was only a thought [like stirring things up lol but sometimes i find the answer].
