Title: Kawasaki KE100 compliance??
Post by: Curtis on April 10, 2018, 05:01:40 pm
Im leaning towards no, but can anyone confirm if the little 80s/90s KE100 had compliance? I have one here with all the lights, speedo, switch blocks etc.etc..
It does have a sticker with build date etc.. but its not a plate as such.

I don’t think bikes of a certain age require “compliance”. I’m pretty certain the KZ75s could be registered back in the day. (Even without blinkers)

I used to ride a Yamaha TY250 in the ‘80s registered in NSW with no blinkers. Hand signals. Tell kids these days and they wouldn’t believe you...

I currently own a ‘73 Z50 with full QLD rego. (Has blinkers)

I would've assumed they were ADR compliant, but maybe not.

Take your frame and eng numbers to your transport authority. They will have records of it was registered before then its easy, no compliance plate needed. If no record you need a compliance plate and they can sell you one. This is if the bikes are ADR compliant. Some are some wernt, depends if Kawasaki paid  the fee. You can get your own ADR but it needs an engineer to certify. I have seen a registered tKE100

This bike isn't that old (94 model). Pre 74 there was no compliance plates..Yeah I was just wondering in General if they had ADR compliance. Some bikes had a sticker instead of a plate. Some Ag bikes sold in aus have all the road gear but no ADR compliance. For example there is a complied and non complied CT200.

That year would have to have ADR and a VIN and they would be aly plates riveted to the frame.. If it hasnt then look for something else to play on the roads with.

I have seen stockmans with lights and blinkers and no ADR.

same as the current smaller honda crf's etc -all the gear but no adr but you can register a monkey bike ! typical rms/adr's ,yet they pass clear blinkers that you cannot see on round-abouts in direct sun and headlights  that seem designed to blind you ! Gmf'kd
