Ok folks, hoping the Yamaha experts on here can sort this out for me quickly. As you all know Yamaha 360 pistons are thin on the ground, I am building a RT2/3 motor and wondering if I can run an MX360 piston or DT360A piston in an RT engine? Grateful for any help.
Cheers, Rod.

Either Firko or Ian Cameron will know for sure

Yes the MX and the DT360 piston will fit . just check the ring end gap pin to make sure if it in the wrong place its an easy fix . Are you racing or trail riding ? If your racing the RT2MX piston is a single ring job . IF buying from Ebay be careful most of the idiots selling are listing 250 360 pistons as the same thing . the first 3 numbers are the key eg 313- 11631-00-96 is the standard DT2MX 250 piston now 322-11631-00-96 is the RT2MX 360 piston
so your looking for 322-11631-00 RT2mx
same numbers for the MX360
give me a day and I will get the DT360 numbers for you they are 2 ring so longer life .
Pm me if I can be any help . Iain

Thanks Iain. Just needed that bit of reassurance, don't need to be buying the wrong parts.
Will be racing VMX in NSW with Heaven so this is for the new pre 75 ride.
Cheers.
