Title: WMW CR250 Info please
Post by: silverfox on November 10, 2017, 11:34:59 pm
Looking at a bike tomorrow and it looks to be a WMW CR250. Did they make them in 91? or what years were they converted. Also, what should be on the compliance plate? XR250? Just trying to work out what to look for.

i only remember them in the mid 80's 84 - 86 but they could easily have kept punting them out. they would have wmw cr 250 on the comp plate (im assuming) as they got the bikes complied.

I had an '87, they where actually a WMW ### (not CR ) on the compliance plate, the Honda engine tag under the gear lever will also be changed to a WMW ###. There should be no reference to it being a Honda and any rego papers should make reference to a WMW 250, not a Honda CR250.

I also had a 87, and yes it was a WMW on the compliance plate, for Woodys motorcycles. Wish I never sold it  :'(
