Anyone know how the Aussies went at the weekend? Tried to find results on the website with no luck and Facebook much the same

Links you to the results, with best lap time as well. Terrible weather and track conditions in what is, according to the averages, their 3 rd driest month of the year. Not sure why BVB was the reserve when his times were pointy end.

Hope this helps or hope i'm on the right track at least, more up there in small doses you may find down the side from these videos. Think i'm on the right year [what year are we in--what day is it lol].

just watching the second one down. ends in 8rnA & only up to 8 minutes in but good battles going on as seen on the bike cam in this case!!. Better than the crap on TV.

I just watched a bit of the third one down. You can see Deakin come through about two thirds through the first lap. You can see why he got up to fourth, he was a lot faster than the guys at the back. Still how dangerous would it be coming through at that speed with limited good lines.
The second start was from another set of gates angled to the right side.

The team riders were based on if you entered on time (or early). That is why James Deakin started from the second start on the Saturday. He started in the first start on Sunday. He lead one race but stalled with a five second lead.

So it was a great event despite the weather on the Sunday.
To those that weren't haven't been there then no matter how rough or wet it was you just won't know until you do it or at least see it for your own eyes!
The evo team aka pre 90's were unreal.
5th overall for Craig Anderson. Led one moto for most of the race till a mistake cost him a few spots.
Kirk Hutton and James Deakin were fantastic and placed 16th and 18th respectively.
Glen Bell was way off the pace due to a less than favourable lead up due to injury and placed well back.
The depth of talent is an other mind blower.
I think they placed 6th as a team but not 100% on that.
Due to shit rules as James Deakin was a reserve in over 50's evo, he was relegated to a second gate drop ( 40 riders in first drop and another 20 in the second drop) on the saturday, even though he qualified about 3rd fastest! So he had to push through the pack to run in the top 5 by the end of the moto.
Sunday he was able to run in the first lot and nearly won his races! Legend!
In the Twin shock des nations I was a reserve but ended up taking John Kittles spot due to him braking a collar bone in the lead up to the event and chose to run in the over 50's only due to a lack of fitness basically.
So Geoff Ballard was 14th, Russell Williamson 29th and Kenneth Swan 30th.
Geoff and I found each other all weekend and both had a 9th as our best result.
I ended up 12th overall (stoked).
I also competed in the over 50's twin shock. I got 5th overall (very stoked). My best result was a 4th in the first moto.I had a bad moto in the 3rd race in the mud. I ran too higher tyre pressure as was told to run 15 in all conditions, even mud. I was going in circles ( literally ). I dropped to 10 psi after that.
I had a couple of issues in the twin shock of nations too.
The bike ran that hot due to muddy conditions in the first race on the Sunday, that the spark plug lead melted onto the head and shorted out. I found the issue and was able to restart and finish 18th. It was so muddy i wasn't able to push the bike off the track. The bike had so much mud caked on. Starting and riding was the only way i could move it!
In the next race i was in a great position well in the top ten when the fuel cap came off spilling fuel all over me. Not wanting to pull in i improvised and stuffed my glove in the filler. Unfortunately it fell out so i stopped again and used my other glove. It jammed in much better and finished the race. I think the fact my pants were already wet saved my crown jewels from copping it as its happened to me before and i ended up in a dam up to my waist to get relief!
Do yourself a favour and put it on your bucket list!

Well done. Sounds like it was great, even with the mud. Typical Pommie weather for the time of year i guess.

Just arrived back from the trip yesterday. Man what a trip and better than I had hoped. Just such a blast riding and racing the Farleigh track and getting to know the Aussie team and supporters and all the extremely generous and helpful Poms. Great report Brad and your results reflect what I witnessed as a beautifully executed race weekend despite some set backs. Well done mate, I was proud to race in the same team as you. All riders in the Team gave it their all and each of us have our own dramas and highlights. The highlight rides were James Deakin, Craig Ando, Kirk Hutton, Geoff Ballard and of course BvB. I'd like to make a special mention of John Kittle. What a stand up guy he showed himself to be. He went to Farleigh as a team member and BvB was our reserve. While John says he wasn't riding at his best due to recovering from a broken collarbone, he was still riding very well and had every right to keep his place in the team. It was a class act how he put his team and his friendship first and offered to give up his place for Brad. JK has to be admired for such a selfless decision.
I second Brad's comments on how rough the track was. I've done a lot of Motocross racing on many different tracks and have never seen anything like it. I always shake my head when riders complain about rough tracks in Australia because as far as I am concerned rough tracks are an integral part of the challenge of real Motocross and we just need to ride to the conditions. That's why long travel suspension has developed on our bikes. This trip to Farleigh reinforced my viewpoint as there are very few more legitimate authentic natural terrain motocross tracks around the world than Farleigh Castle. With an average 2.40 to 3 minute lap of Farleigh throwing all sorts of challenges at you. Long sloppy and shaded ruts that changed every lap. Deep sharp edged potholes full of slippery rocks, long extremely bumpy uphills and downhills and of course the famous steps. I have to admit though, I was not at all prepared for how rough it actually was and as it got rougher my bike felt more and more badly prepared for the conditions. It was a little damp early Saturday but the day was sunny and it dried through the day getting faster and rougher and rougher. By the last of my 4 Saturday motos it was just crazy trying to accelerate up and down the hills. Think of the absolute roughest acceleration bumps you have experienced coming out of a corner, the line you do everything to avoid, then imagine it like that all across the track all the way up and down the hills. Then on Sunday, you turn up to the track to find out overnight it had received over an hours solid rain! I can tell you when I found that out, I thought to myself, holy crap this is simply going to be a battle to survive each lap, and I was right. All those sharp edged bumps were now sloppy with virtually no traction. It was carnage, with bikes strewn all over the track. As difficult as it was as part of such a great Aussie team it was an amazing experience to race the track all those World Champs and GP stars of the past had raced.
Anyway Rosco Holden did it! He organised, coordinated and managed the whole effort and it was exactly what I thought it would be, a VMX Trip of a lifetime. Fantastic memories I'll take to my grave.

Great write up. I have seen a few YouTube vids and it looked like a great weekend. Shame the track went a bit off with all the rain, then drying out then rain etc..
Glad the Aussies did well and had fun.
