If you have an old one that's not up to the task, there's people that fix them.

I don't have a plate Geoff. Can anyone tell me I'd a 86-88 stator and CDI will work?

The flywheel is slightly bigger on the 86-88 200 so l don't see that the parts will interchange.

EDIT

Partzilla says that the left side of the crankshaft is the same from '83 to '87 so there's a possibility an ignition/flywheel might fit from the P/Valve motor.
That's not to say that slightly bigger flywheel will fit behind the cover though.
The right side of the crank is different because the primary drive gear is splined onto the P/V crank/
The P/V motor will fit in the early frame with a slight mod the exhaust header angle.

Thanks for the info Geoff. There are a couple of stators on a,erican ebay but I've noticed they have one less wire than my manual shows. The three to the CDI are the same but the American ones only have one other yellow wire. My manual shows a green wire as well. Is this something to do with Australian compliance?

We have 2 power wires, one for the lights (like the US) and one for our ADR battery to charge.
