Title: clutch side engine cover82 wr 250

I think I'm going insane with this sometimes it tightens down sometimes it just won't like now.The pin on the right side of the cover seems to be catching on the gear shift mechanism???Does that pin serve any purpose?Can it be shortened?

how is the roller bearing in the kicker well lining up? is your gear lever slot lined up properly? are you getting it on square?? are the case locating pegs ok?

apart from the spring ends sitting in the correct locations is the spring sitting correctly over the ratchet pawl?
if it isn't the kickstarter mechanism doesn't line up correctly.
