Hey Guys,
I'm trying to identify an electronic ignition I found in one of my spare TT500 engines. Does anyone have any info on this item? (http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3246/2800020482_2222ae4422.jpg)
Thanks Guys!

Hi Cowboy Don:-
The CDI Ignition on your TT500 motor is a Mototek, made by Martek Products in America, circa early 1980`s. I ran one on my road-going XT500G for many years, and it performed well. Hope this answers your question.
Cheers from Johns.

Excellent, thanks for that John. Unfortunately I don't have the CDI unit to go with it, any idea where I can get something like that for it?

ask ian williams down on torrens road, he dealt with Mo teck and motplat stuff so he might still have somthing out the back

Thanks for your help guys, it's much appreciated.

Hi Cowboy Don:-
In regards to the Mototek CDI, i still have one, but have lost the fitting instructions long ago. Can`t be rocket science to fit these though, so let me know if you want it or not, maybe a trade for some TT500 bits.
Yours Johns.

www.bettabikes.com (Adelaide) will be able to help you for sure. They did an excellent repair on a GSF 250 digital ignition box and was way cheaper than buying new one at $1150!!!! ouch. they can probably make a CDI box to suit whats on the engine.

hey Johns,if Cowboys not interested in complete CDI,i am ;D,should have somethings suitable to swap?,cheers Mick

Hello from Johns:-
To Matcho Mick or Cowboy Don, are either of you still interested in the Mototek CDI for a Yamaha TT500?
Let us know ,if so do either of you have an original kill switch that was on the TT`s from the ``C`` Model on that is in good condition for my full resto TT500H?
Cheers from Johns.
