Title: VIN or FRAME NUMBER
Post by: John Smith on May 16, 2017, 12:16:58 pm
Righto Gurus,

81 RM250 X. Frame number stamped on headstem, located  and ID as an 81 model no worries. Did this year bike come out with a separate plate or sticker with a VIN number as well?

that's your vin no...Suzuki use the frame no as the total parts identifier...e/no is irrelevant in getting parts

The frame number should match the number on the compliance plate. Suzuki did not have VIN numbers at this time in Australia on PE's

VINs came in around 1981 for USA. If you look online you will find the suzuki number charts and the VIN starts in 81 or 82. I cant remember the precise year but its one of those 2.
