Great looking bikes. The DT 175 didn't come out with the raised front guard. They had a steel one just above the wheel. Still a nice looking bike. Thanks for the pics.

CT1, 2 & 3 had a low guard, but I think the DT175A had a high guard standard. Long time ago though, happy to be corrected...

Correct.

The DT175a had a low guard. That was my first bike. I bought it from Brian Collins in Kingswood, NSW. Cost me $609 on the road. The first thing I done was to buy a plastic guard and mount it high.

not arguing or anything, but I think the low mudguard depended on what market the bike was built for, I have one with the low steel mudguard yet I have seen others with the high mudguard that the owners say is original {maybe import bikes ? }
some DT175a parts books also show both types

Low guards were a NSW thing back in the day,my 1st bike a ts185l had one and was removed for a pp murder and a pp enduro rear guard with built in taillight

I think you may be right. When I put on the high guard, I was told that they were illegal for rego.

Could of been a local thing guys, or maybe a dealer thing as id always believed. All my 185s have had Hi guards and that was Mid north coast NSW. They come stock with mounts for both so who knows. Actually only seen 3 185s with low guards, heaps of 125s and TCs where all low. Probably the same with the DT.
