Just letting you know that I have bought a RV 90 as well, still to pick it up but maybe we can compare notes on Parts? Most dirt bikes have a bigger diameter front wheel than the rear so not sure why a sand bike would be different. Horse drawn Wagons had a wider steel Tyre on the front and a narrow one on the back with the idea being the front flattened and smoothed out the dirt for the back so maybe the bigger front footprint levels out and compacts the sand for the drive wheel? Not sure if this helps............

you need less "rolling resistance" in the front wheel or else it will "tuck under" all the time as the back drives it forward. Loose sand magnifies this 10 fold

74 *L model

Search the forum. A while back one of the guys found a source for the impossible to get tyres.

Interesting engine with a reed not rotary valve as you would thing by the carby positioning.

Pokey, the MT50 Rockhopper was the same case reed induction ;)

Cyclone, there is an online service manual if you need. http://www.2strokeworld.com/manuals/rv90/ (http://www.2strokeworld.com/manuals/rv90/)

Rockhopper hey Chris. I never played with one of those.
I did own a RV90 back in the early 80s. Cant remember if it was silver but i did paint it silver. That was my beach fishing bike and when the fish wernt biting the RV was my beach MX bike. Heavy little thing to throw around and to be honest, too underpowered for beachwork if the rider was over 60kg.

Hoping to breath some cheap life back into it with a set of rings i pulled the top end to check piston size and besides finding a chunk missing from the rear skirt i found a reed where the rotAry disk should live. Surprised the hell out of me.

Gday Cyclone,

I have a few RV125 and now RV90 bikes that I am rebuilding
A lot of OEM Suzuki parts are still available, just search the part No through Alpha-sports web
The genuine Bridgestone tyres are available from the USA:
 https://www.smalltires.com/index.cfm/product/search-by-tire-size
This company would not ship to Aus so I had the tyres re directed through shipping company, cost me around $550 at my door for 2 sets (4 x RV125 tyres and Aussie dollar was a lot better than now)
I have found Skyteam tyres in Aus that look the same pattern as Bridgestone and DOT approved for the road at around 80 each for the RV90. Both front and back tyres should be 6.7 x 10

Picture of my nearly complete RV90 Street fighter...

The other 2 x RV90 will be original
