Title: Wet blasting
Post by: FAT-TOY on March 19, 2017, 10:23:00 pm
Do any of you blokes have or used one of those Katcher type wet blasters.  The type that attach to a pressure cleaner gun  and sucks the sand through a plastic tube from a container then mixes it with the water near the nozzle.

Yep, I've used one with garnet. Does the job allright, no good on steel as it rusts immediately.

Keeps the dust down and if you do it in a big bucket like a 1000L IBC, most of the rubbish stays in the bottom of the bucket.

We had one on a big three phase steam cleaner that we used to wash the trucks for rego, I only used it once on an alloy pump unit I was doing up. It sriped that off in seconds but it was a real b***h to keep the sand flowing through and if the water went down the sand pipe then it cloged the hose up big time.
