1971? Yamaha RT1 360. What you see is what you get. Motor turns over has plenty of compression. Internals unknown. Would suit transplant/ project.
$200 ono, Camden area PM if interested. Will post pics soon.

Interesting that you think it is an RT1. The reed valve and the engine number dates it as an RT3, which is 1973. All RT's had engine and frame numbers starting with RT1, only slightly confusing.

Sleepy, as there is no evident frame number the next obvious place was the engine number. Unfortunately out here at Oakdale we've only just got colour TV and as for Google I'm sure my dial up land line would not handle it. I'm not an expert on early Yammies as this bike pre dates my DOB, and unless it's red and says Maico on it, like my username then it really doesn't interest me. If someone can identify it better than me great and if they can salvage any parts from it then great. Sorry for the confusion.

Yamaha numbers are very confusing from that era. I've seen guy's turn up for the pre70 class on a bike that has an RT1 engine number only to be turned away as they have an RT2 or 3 reed valve motor. Their not all that happy as they bought the bike as a pre70 eligible machine. Some have fitted piston port barrels and raced them in pre 70 but the piston port RT1 barrel are like rocking horse poo.
I would have been happy to buy it but as I'm in Brisbane I have no way of picking it up and I hope the other guy still wants it.
The pipe is an RT2/3 or DT2/3 pipe with a TS250 heat shield fitted, every thing else is original except the front guard

ts250 heatshield...I knew it!!!

Thought I'd throw up a photo of my RT3 which is almost finished it's resto. Still got to do the seat, but have a new foam and a cover coming.
