It's not the HP that you should be worried about it's the freakin torque.
Had mine out for it's first ride this weekend just gone at the RIDE 4 KIDS event at Broadford. Unfortunitly the MX track was deemed unsafe (gotta confer with the organisers on that) so we only had the enduro loop to ride. As i had a modern to ride (RM125) i rode that for a couple of laps before i took the 500 out into the bush, which was muddy and with a lot of handcut and off camber hills. The old girl litterally dug trenches every where she went and made my arms 2 foot longer. Can't wait to get it on a big track like Broadford real soon and stretch her legs.

It has way too much, plus about ten. ;D ;D Try an nice smooth 86 KX500 while you're at it-it is a life changing experience-the bike jumps forward about 3 meters when you exhale.

the 85 kx500 was the trex of mx kxrex they pulled big horsepower even standard
cycle world did a test on them and dragged raced it
against a cr500 and it won every time by
over six bike lengths 8)
i have a worked one
i take it out occasionally and stretch my arms ;D

It appears that Holeshot is getting faster now that he is over 50  :o . When I commented on this at Conondale , someone said that the reason is because he is getting old & doesn't have much to live for anymore  :D .
