The "Scott" Motorcycle company, an english company founded in the early 1900's.

The Scott Squirrel was introduced in 1922, as a 486cc. ( I remember because it was My old boys birth year).
It was quickly changed to the 498cc? and 596cc? Scott Super Squirrel.

Both the first and second world wars stuffed this company around big time.

It is said that they developed a 750 and 1000cc two stroke water cooled triples in the 1930's, but the commencement of the second world war stopped commercial production.
After the second world war they released a 500 and 600 version called the Flying Squirrel.

Absolutely amazing find.

I am pretty sure the only thing ever invented by the rising sun was plagiarism.

May sound strange but that's why I wanted to race one , not many people Know about Scotts yet alone seen one And the vast majority won't have heard one , the only problem I have is you can't buy a manual so building by pictures ( google images ) took a picture of spare crank flywheel with Pistons note the grooves in the piston the fuel tank has two parts and is basically an auto lube system has separate pump driven from crank and two stroke oil has pumped around the slots are for oiling of the barrel ?

Yes from what I info I have read the Scott was built in Shipley then I think the company changed hands and was then built in Birmingham this is when the silk came into it , same bike but one was a Shipley Scott the other known as a silk Birmingham Scott , there where no others that I know of , I gather Scott was 60 plus years before his time first water cooled bikes around 1912. I thought my 81 cr Hondas where the first how wrong was I

Silks were built in Derbyshire in the 1970s with a Scott engine, a Spondon chassis and a Velocette gearbox.

Way ahead of their time, I would seriously consider sacrificing my left nut to have one of these.

Trying to figure out fuel tanks and oil tank ( however the more I look the more questions I find) one tank has one cap for fuel only the other tank two caps one for fuel the other for two stroke oil but in the photo that mick D took it shows a dual tank and an oil tank can anyone explain what I am missing ? Both engines have two stroke oil injection to the bearings I just assumed one bike the 1937 would run tank and separate oil tank and bike two 1947 would run dual tank only ??? Ps anyone know where I can find a manual for ignition set up ( and everything else come to mind) as in the photo again it shows a dizzy would this be self powering like the 37 is or power fed from  maggy/ Dynamo
