Title: TNT 250 rod options
Post by: Husky500evo on November 27, 2016, 05:45:58 pm
I am in need of a new conrod kit to suit a '75 Can AM TNT250. Does anyone out there know of an alternative option that will do the job , as I am told that the original Rotax rod kit is no longer available ?

Not sure if the TNT motor is called a 244 Rotax . I just know that they are a shorter stroke than the ones used for the MX4 and later Can Ams and ATKs etc .

yeah, that's where I was headed with that. Have you tried Bert Floods?

A 120mm or 125mm rod ? Have you tried Tony Murphy in the USA?

Was told that Bert Flood doesn't have any Rotax stuff left . I have emailed Tony Murphy . I have a good crank , which I think is from an MX6 Can Am 250 , which has a rod that is about 5 mm longer than the one I need .

They still have engine stuff left - just not Canam stuff.

Floods still has Rotax parts for the old 2t motorcycle engines. Just bought some gear there last week, ordered one day, delivered the next.

I'm sure I've seen new rods on one of the Can Am/ SWM sites I've perused over the years. One of the USA sites but can't remember which one. Might be worth a google & some browsing.

I ended up buying a TNT250 rod kit and some other Rotax bits from Tony Murphy in the USA . Al Roberts , in Texas , has rod kits as well . But they are no longer available from Rotax .
